JMAC 2 & 4 Site Feasibility Study

Laying the groundwork for future development and building feasibility
To support JMU’s long-term growth, Colman Engineering conducted a Feasibility Study for the JMAC 2 and 4 site, exploring options for reconfiguring parking areas and accommodating a future building. The study determined that JMAC 2 and 4 could be accommodated on a similar footprint as JMAC 6, despite the constraints of a very tight site area and its proximity to the adjacent railroad property.
The project included a preliminary topographic survey, a conceptual site design outlining building placement, parking, utilities, and stormwater management requirements, as well as a preliminary grading plan. Colman Engineering also developed a cost estimate to provide stakeholders with a clear understanding of the investment needed.
These preliminary planning documents can serve as a foundation for future site development, ensuring JMU’s infrastructure can meet evolving campus needs.
