To support its vision of creating an interactive and educational children's garden for families and visitors of all mobility levels, JMU’s Edith J. Carrier Arboretum undertook a series of site improvements. Colman Engineering provided civil engineering services, including site planning for the interactive play zones, drainage solutions, and ADA-compliant pedestrian routes, as well as expanded parking. The project included detailed survey work, design of stormwater management systems to address erosion issues, and construction administration to ensure successful implementation. These enhancements not only improve visitor accessibility and experience but also foster deeper connections with the natural world. |
