Customer Story James Madison University East Campus Tennis Courts
Creating a safe place for the JMU tennis team to practice year-round.
Our Client Founded in 1908, James Madison University is a public university located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. JMU is fast becoming one of the nation’s leading lights in higher education because students enjoy unusually engaged relationships with world-class faculty who are here because they want to pursue knowledge and make teaching their No. 1 priority.
Project Description The JMU tennis team needed a place to practice during the winter season, so the university made plans to construct a new enclosed structure.
Colman Engineering prepared an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on behalf of JMU to evaluate any impacts that the proposed development may have on the local environment.
Colman Engineering also developed the civil site plan for the new tennis court structure, including site survey, site design, stormwater management plan, and utility design as part of the team submittal package for BCOM approval.
With its new enclosed tennis courts, the JMU tennis team can practice comfortably and safely year-round.
